My class assignment this week was to photograph things in my bedroom. At first, I wasn't wild about the assignment because I did not think it would be interesting visually. I was also self conscious about the clutter that I knew was in my bedroom. But as I took the photographs, I realized that I was revealing who I am. It turns out that my bedroom says a lot about me. For instance, check out this pile of magazines that are constantly piled next to my bed. This is a source of irritation to my husband. Why do I do it? There are a few reasons. I love movies so I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly.

Assignments like these are exercises to stretch the mind more than anything. Like you say once you begin a lot of thoughts flow into your head and you may see things differently. It's about letting go of our preconditions to create --- like having orderly or presentable subject matter. Sometimes it's best to shoot first and ask questions later....

Cheri, Would love to read some of YOUR movie "reviews"!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures and words really do tell about you. I love learning about people and I found your post fascinating.
ReplyDeleteNow, when I want to find out about good movies can I call you?
And, by the way, that was NOT a messy pile of magazines. It put my chair-side table to shame.
